350 Players to go under hammer in IPL-4
On Wednesday, the board of control for cricket in India announced that 350 of the world's top cricketer will go under hammer in IPL auction which auction scheduled for January 8 and 9 in Bengaluru. AB de Villier of South Africa and Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan who are IPL centurions are available host stars at the auction. Before the auction, only 12 players have been retained by five franchises. Zaheer Khan, Gautam Gambhir, Yuraj Singh and Ashish Nehra from Indian team amoung others will be up for bidding in the auction.
Deccan Chargers, Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI chose not to retain any players and as a result the there franchises will have the entire $9 million budget at their disposal for the auction. Maximum four players allowed for Chennai and Mumbai to retained each and they will go into the auction with only $4.5 million to spend. Shane Ware and Shane Watson have retained by Royals therefore Royas effectively reducing their purse to $5.9 million. On the 8 April 2011, the first opening match of mega event IPL-4 in Chennai.
