Canon may pull out from IPL ads
Canon India is a contributory of the Japanese imaging and optical products has pushed the panic button because as the crisis in the Japan deepens. Cannon India is contemplating pull out commencing advertising during the cricket's mega event Indian Premier League (IPL) which is opening from April 8. Canon is Japanese multinational which specialize in products similar to photo copies and cameras. Now Company strategy to begin a new range of cameras starting next month and was going to put out a fresh campaign starring brand ambassador Sachin Tendulkar. But at time company is not confident to being able to full or complete the order if it goes ahead with the media campaign.
Alok Bharadwaj, who is senior VP of Canon India believed that with the launch of a fresh campaign they expect order to be created for the product but with issues on supply side the conclusion on whether they will go ahead with the mass media campaign will be taken in a two of days
Official Broadcaster of the IPL SET-MAX told there is no clause which can permit for any advertiser to drag out from the tournament below any circumstances. Rohit Gupta, who is president of Multinational Screen Media, said that there are no questions of any advertiser pulling away once the contract is signed. Such provisions are not element of terms and conditions.
