The election process has started for 10 municipal councils like Lonavla, Baramati, Daund, Shirur, Jejuri, Junnar, Saswad, Indapur, Alandi & Talegaon Dabhade civic bodies of Pune district. Pune Municipal Council Election will be held on 8 December 2011 & the filing of nominations has started on 16 November 2011. The counting of votes will be taking place on 9 December 2011. Among the 197 seats present in the 10 civic bodies, 103 seats are reserved for women. On 22 November 2011, i.e. the last day, majority of the prominent candidates are expected to file their nominations. The number of seats for each civic body is given below.

4.Remaining 7 municipal councils: 17
The only civic body in Pune district that is not going to the polls this year is Bhor. The terms of Junnar, Lonavla & Talegoan Dabhade will be expiring next month while for the remaining 7 municipal councils, it will end by February next year. From 1 November 2011, the model code of conduct for the polls came into force. The voters list that was already prepared on 1 October 2011 is valid for these polls. On 23 November 2011, the scrutiny of nominations will be conducted but 29 November 2011 will be the last date for withdrawing nominations. The poll signs for this election will be distributed on 30 November 2011.
